Help with Plant-Based Outreach at Ridgedale Library Earth Day!
Join us at the Ridgedale Library Earth Day. We are looking for a couple volunteers to help run a trivia game on the environmental impact of our food and ask people to support a plant-based school meal option. Your voice matters!
What is the Ridgedale Library Earth Day?

Outreach at last year’s Ridgedale Library Earth Day. Thanks, Nicola!
The day is a kid-friendly event at Ridgedale Library where several hundred people come to explore eco-friendly living and activities. County officials, library leadership, community partners (including CAA), multiple city and county departments, students, teachers, and volunteers provide resources, demonstrations, activities, and conversations to help us learn about the environment and climate change at the multi-station Earth Day Fair.
Volunteering with CAA
At the event, we’ll be tabling between 11am and 2pm. At the front table, we’ll have a spin wheel game where attendees guess an answer to a question that helps them learn about the ways animal agriculture harms our environment, including larger carbon emissions, more land use and deforestation, and more water pollution than plant-based agriculture. (Don’t worry, you’ll have all the answers and sources to the trivia game!)
After people play the trivia game, we give them a vegan candy or snack. If they’re an adult, we ask them to fill out a note to support a plant-based school meal option. If they’re a kid, we give them a sticker and a coloring sheet about protecting the earth and eating plants.
Who can volunteer?
If you’re passionate about the climate impact of our diet, or about helping people move towards plant-based eating, this event is for you. We’ll help you get oriented when you arrive. All are welcome to volunteer and no experience is required. We know this event is over a typical lunch hour, and we’ll have some snacks and drinks available for volunteers as needed.
How can I sign up to volunteer?
