DESCRIPTION:Come meet the residents at Farmaste\, a Minnesota farm animal sanctuary! RSVP requested by June 13 — sign up below or see all volunteer opportunities at CAA.MN/Volunteer! \nA CAA member meets the resident cow Mags at a 2023 tour of Farmaste. \nWhat We’ll Do\nThe 9:30am opening circle will include a guided breathing meditation from Tara Brach. We’ll also share more information about ongoing work by both CAA and Farmaste. \nThen\, we’ll clean out the barns and spread clean straw. We’ll also get to see and possibly meet some of the residents. Farmaste currently cares for various cattle\, pig\, goat\, and sheep residents. \nWe’ll wash up around 1:00 or 1:30 (depending on how long barn cleaning takes). \nAfterwards\, we’ll have time and shade to enjoy vegan snacks and drinks together. \nWhat to Wear\n\nClosed-toe shoes\nClothes you can get dirty\nA sturdy long-sleeved top (so the straw does not scratch your arms)\nWork gloves (so the straw does not scratch your hands)\nA face mask (so as to not inhale straw dust)\nWater bottle\n\nFarmaste provides all needed tools. CAA will provide drinks and vegan snacks to enjoy afterwards\, as well as blankets and a tent for shade. We’ll also have non-animal-tested sunscreen and bug repellent on hand. \nWhat is Farmaste Animal Sanctuary?\nFarmaste Animal Sanctuary rescues abused\, neglected\, and unwanted farm animals and provides them with a safe sanctuary. Residents are always respected as someone\, not treated as something. \nIn addition to caring for resident animals\, Farmaste offers community events\, wine nights\, tours\, and volunteer opportunities. They are also certified by a Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries as offering exceptional care and space for their animals. DESCRIPTION:Come meet the residents at Farmaste\, a Minnesota sanctuary for farmed animals! You’ll get to interact with and help sheep\, goats\, pigs\, cattle and a donkey. Volunteering at Farmaste is a wonderful way to get fresh air and a workout\, all while contributing to animals’ well-being. \nHow to Register\nGo to our Ticketbud site to sign up to volunteer! \nWhat is Farmaste Animal Sanctuary?\nFarmaste rescues abused\, neglected\, and unwanted farmed animals and provides them with a safe sanctuary to live out their natural lifespans. Residents are respected as someone\, not treated as something. \nWhat is the Schedule?\nAt 9:30am\, we’ll gather at the picnic table to meet each other and to review the tasks for the day. We’ll then split into smaller groups\, and clean out the different barns\, replacing dirty straw with fresh straw. \nWhere is the Sanctuary?\nThe sanctuary is in Lindstrom\, MN\, less than an hour north of the Twin Cities\, near Stacy and North Branch. The exact address will be provided to all attendees the week before the event.
