The RSVP form is at the bottom of this page. \nVivi Bubble Tea is a participant in this year’s exciting Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge and has an incredible dish entered in the competition– Spicy Saigon Banh Mi. We’ll also take a simple optional action together at the event to help animals\, like calling our reps or signing a petition. After that\, we’ll rate the food\, and your rating will help us see how it stacks up against the many other restaurants in the competition! \n🥖 What’s the food? \nWe’ll all be trying out their 2026 Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge dish\, Spicy Saigon Banh Mi. It’s a banh mi sandwich\, filled with spicy marinated plant-based jerky beef\, jicama\, green onions\, carrot\, cilantro\, jalapeños\, mayo\, butter\, and soy sauce.  \nVivi also offers a variety of teas\, boba\, jellies\, and tea drinks that can be made vegan. Ask at the counter!  \n👨🏾‍🍳 What is the Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge?  \nEach August\, restaurants around the Twin Cities add a new vegan dish to the menu. Diners visit restaurants and rate each dish they try. DESCRIPTION:Join Breanna Knutson\, Dave Rolsky\, and Jared Rolsky for an intimate fundraising dinner in support of Compassionate Action for Animals. \nEnjoy a home-cooked Southern-themed meal\, drinks\, dessert\, and a relaxed evening of conversation and games with fellow supporters. \nDate: Saturday\, August 15\nTime: 5:30–8:00 p.m.\nLocation: Standish Green Condominiums community room\, 2210 E 40th Street\, Minneapolis\, MN 55407\nTickets: $30 per person \nWe only have 20 seats available\, so we encourage you to reserve your spot! \n  \nMenu\n\nSouthern BBQ salad with roasted vegetables and tofu\nVegan chicken and sausage gumbo with rice\nSmoky stewed greens\n\nDesserts: \n\nChocolate brownies with almond butter mousse\nPeach cobbler\nBakewell tart\n\nDrinks:\nIced tea\, wine\, and other beverages will be provided. \nAbout the evening\nWhen you enter\, we’ll have bingo and a “banned word game” to get to know other guests. Bring cash for the “swear jar” in case you say a banned word! After dinner\, Dave\, Jared and Breanna will share the impact of CAA’s work and share why they choose to volunteer and give. Executive Director Laura Matanah will also make a brief presentation. After dinner we’ll have time for socializing and cornhole\, outdoors if the weather permits. \nThere is both on-site parking and street parking available\, and the venue is ADA accessible. \nSupport CAA’s work for animals\nThis dinner is part of a fundraising effort to support Compassionate Action for Animals and the work CAA is doing to create a kinder world for animals. \nLast year\, CAA brought more than 5\,500 people to Twin Cities Veg Fest and helped secure a plant-based-by-default food policy for Hennepin County events. \nAs part of this effort\, Dave will match your gift FIVE TIMES if you join CAA’s Circle of Care as a monthly donor or increase your monthly donation. He will also match one-time gifts\, up to a total of $6\,000. \nWhether you attend\, give\, or become a monthly donor\, your support helps power CAA’s work for animals. \nReserve your seat\nTickets are $30 per person\, and space is limited to 20 guests.

After that\, we’ll rate the food\, and your rating will help us see how it stacks up against the many other restaurants in the competition! \n🍜 What’s the food? \nWe’ll all be trying out their 2026 Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge dish. The Korean BBQ Mushroom Ssam is a smoky blend of oyster\, king oyster\, and shiitake mushrooms in a tomato and pepper Korean BBQ sauce\, served with house-made kokuho rice\, lettuce\, and seasonal banchan. It’s a delicious\, savory\, flavorful dish\, perfect for splitting and sharing. The picture above shows a serving for two people\, and you can order a batch for 1-4 servings.  \nTori also offers a variety of other vegan dishes on the menu\, from the Bali Ramen (ground tofu\, szechuan peppers\, tahini) to the Shoyu Fire Ramen to appetizers like Korean Cucumbers. Just ask the servers about their menu options. Tori offers a choice of either rice noodles or wheat noodles\, and is able to make gluten-ingredient-free dishes\, though there is not a separate prep area. \n👨🏾‍🍳 What is the Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge?  \nEach August\, restaurants around the Twin Cities add a new vegan dish to the menu.
