The federal Farm Bill is at a crossroads, and it’s time to raise our voices.
This legislation is passed by Congress every few years to tweak agricultural policy and reauthorize farm subsidies and nutrition assistance programs. But this year, the House is considering a radical version that comes stuffed with poison pills.
Section 12006 of the House Farm Bill, the “Save Our Bacon” Act, is a repackaged version of the widely opposed and discredited EATS Act. This legislation would overturn hundreds of state and local laws, including basic protections for farmed animals.
The cost of this bill would be enormous, forcing over 500,000+ mother pigs into metal crates so small they can’t even turn around.
That’s why we’re joining forces with a powerful coalition of animal, environmental, and social justice advocates to say NO to the radical House Farm Bill.
Join us for a virtual Farm Bill Action Party on April 8! We’ll provide the scripts, targets, and community — all you need to bring is your phone.

If you can’t make it, we can still help you call your Representative on your own time. Just find your Representative and their D.C. office number and use the script below:
“Hello, my name is [NAME] and I live at [ADDRESS]. I’m calling to ask [MEMBER’S NAME] to oppose any Farm Bill that overturns democratically enacted state laws, including protections for farmed animals like California’s Proposition 12. This includes the House Farm Bill, H.R. 7567. No Farm Bill at all is better than a Farm Bill that hurts animals and democracy — just to benefit factory farms.”
You can also use this email tool we built to send messages to your legislators and their staff.
Thank you for taking action for animals! Together, we can make incredible change.
